Message from the Minister

Honourable Mary Anne Jablonski, Minister of Seniors and Community Supports

As the Minister responsible for seniors, I invite you to join the Seniors’ Week 2009 celebration.

Across Alberta, seniors generously give their knowledge, experience and skills to enrich the lives of those around them. Community leaders, volunteers, neighbours, co-workers and cherished family members—these are a few of the many roles seniors play, and the many ways they show us how to live positively and fully.

This year’s theme, Seniors—A Strength of Alberta, reminds us of how seniors continue to help make Alberta one of the best places in the world to live. Seniors contribute as much to our present growth as they have to our past.

Every year, thousands of Albertans celebrate Alberta’s seniors during Seniors’ Week. I hope you can join them. Organize or participate in a Seniors’ Week activity in your community, and show your appreciation for the strength seniors add to our province and to your life.

Sincerely,

Mary Anne Jablonski
Minister
