Message from the Minister

Honourable Mary Ann Jablonski, Minister of Seniors and Community Supports

As the Minister responsible for seniors, I encourage you to join me in celebrating Seniors' Week 2008.

This year's theme, Our Seniors – Building a Stronger Alberta, reflects the important role of seniors in our province. They helped build the vibrant and prosperous Alberta we enjoy today, and they continue to make our communities stronger.

Alberta's seniors support our families and friends, volunteer with charities and religious organizations, and work in local businesses. Their contributions are a wonderful reminder to all of us that we can make a real difference in our province and in the lives of others.

Seniors' Week is a great time to show our appreciation for all that Alberta's seniors do, both for our province and for us as individuals. One of the ways you can do this is by planning or participating in a Seniors' Week activity in your community. There are several ways to register your event.

I hope you celebrate Seniors' Week 2008 with us and join the thousands of Albertans who will be honouring our seniors.
