The Seniors Advisory Council for Alberta worked with the
Alberta Council on Aging to collect information on the financial status of seniors' centres. The resulting report, which was based on a survey and public consultation sessions in late 2006, led to recommendations based on the report’s findings. The recommendations include providing information on potential sources of financial support.
The Seniors Advisory Council for Alberta uses public consultations and visits facilities to gather information to develop recommendations about seniors programs and services in the province. During the public consultations, three questions are asked:
The topics that emerge are compiled into public consultation reports, which are then presented to the Minister of Seniors and Community Supports and all MLAs.
