Alberta Seniors and Community Supports provides grants to some housing registries to assist with the costs of providing registry services. These services may include:

• Maintaining lists of senior citizens’ apartments, lodges and management bodies;
• Helping seniors find private accommodation; and,
• Documenting information on household problems.

No new funding is available for this program.

Alberta Senior Citizens’ Housing Association (ASCHA) Online Alberta Seniors Housing Registry

ASCHA developed the first free searchable provincial Seniors Housing Registry in Alberta designed to serve as a guide for those seeking seniors housing facilities across the province. The registry categorizes the projects by region which allows you to search for any type of project in the region or municipality of your choice. It also allows you to search by other criteria such as rental range, unit type, services available, major suite and building amenities etc. It is available on line at:  http://www.ascha.com/Main.asp.

The ASCHA Provincial Seniors Housing Registry was developed by ASCHA with start-up funding from the Province of Alberta for the development of this essential resource. In collaboration with ASCHA, The Care Guide will now be the exclusive print medium for the previous printed version of ASCHA's Seniors Housing Directory. ASCHA will continue to maintain it's online version of the housing registry. Participation in the registry is voluntary and therefore may not include all seniors housing operators in Alberta.
