The federal and provincial governments offer several assistance programs for seniors. The benefits that you receive from the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) program administered by the Government of Canada are important. If you are not receiving the correct benefit from the GIS program, you will be asked to resolve this matter before an application will be accepted by the Special Needs Assistance for Seniors program. If your situation has recently changed, you may be eligible to complete an estimate of income with the GIS program. This may increase your benefits from that program.

You will be asked to submit your letter of eligibility documenting the new benefits you will receive from the Guaranteed Income Supplement program.
