Old Age Security

If you do not qualify for the federal Old Age Security pension, you are eligible for a reduced benefit if you are a:

• renter (includes renting from family)
• homeowner
• resident of a lodge
• resident of a long-term care centre

If you do not qualify for Old Age Security, your sources of income and the calculation of your income is different from a senior who receives Old Age Security. To calculate your benefit if you do not qualify for Old Age Security, call the Alberta Supports Contact Centre at 1-877-644-9992.
