Standards For Interpreting
In Education Settings
The purpose of this document is to assist staff in educational setting (ECS
to grade 12) in the hiring, supervision, and coordination of interpreters
for Deaf and hard of hearing students, with a view to ensuring that these
interpreters provide appropriate services, are competent, and meet
acceptable standards.
The document was created with the help of an Advisory Group,
consisting of
individuals nominated by stakeholder groups.
Interpreting Standards in Educational Settings: Implementation Review
This study was conducted to determine the extent to which the
"Standards for
Interpreting in Educational Settings" have been implemented
throughout Alberta.
