Case summaries are completed for select cases that Protection for Persons in Care determines may help the public understand the Protection for Persons in Care Act (the Act) and how it is applied. Of the files closed each month a sample of cases are chosen and a case summary is prepared. The summary describes the type of abuse received in the complaint, the allegation made by the complainant, a brief overview of the investigation findings, action taken by the agency, and the approved recommendations.

These case summaries are an opportunity to provide real examples of the application of the Act in different situations.
