The Minister’s Seniors Service Awards recognize Albertans who volunteer their time to make a difference in the lives of the province’s seniors. Individuals of all ages and organizations are eligible for the awards, which are presented at a special ceremony in June during Seniors’ Week.
For the 2008 awards, individuals and organizations from across Alberta have been nominated for their service to seniors. The nomination submission deadline was February 29, 2008.
A Nomination Review Committee, appointed by the Minister of Seniors and Community Supports, and chaired by George VanderBurg, Chair of the Seniors Advisory Council for Alberta and MLA for Whitecourt-Ste. Anne, will review the nominations and forward recommendations to the Minister. The Minister then selects the final recipients.

The awards will be presented by the Minister at a special ceremony in June during Seniors’ Week 2008. The names of the recipients and a biography of their service to seniors will be announced in a news release on the day of the awards ceremony. The news release will be available on this page.
