Message from the Minister

As the Minister of Seniors, it is an honour to invite you to submit a nomination for the 2012 Minister’s Seniors Service Awards.

Every single day, Albertans are helping Albertans. Whether they are neighbours, friends or family members, business owners, seniors centres or community organizations, volunteers are working throughout Alberta, providing valuable, generous support to our seniors.

Seniors are one of our greatest resources. We must recognize the kindness of volunteers in our communities who do so much for our seniors. Whether it is simply helping a senior neighbour with a grocery run or planning recreational activities for community members to stay active, every selfless act by these individuals and organizations is an act of respect and honour to seniors in our province.

The Minister’s Seniors Service Awards recognize all that volunteers do for seniors in Alberta.

Award recipients will be invited to a special recognition ceremony in June as part of celebrations for Seniors’ Week 2012.

Please nominate an individual or group that makes a difference to seniors in your community. After all, they deserve it!
