Stocking Aids
AADL provides financial assistance for compression garments for those Albertans with documented Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) Class Two or Three and Chronic Lymphedema. Stockings aids will be provided from April 21, 2008 to March 31, 2009 OR until supplies last to select clients to decrease their reliance on a health care aide or personal care attendant for donning and doffing compression garments.
Who is eligible for this pilot project?
Initial or existing low income AADL clients that receive funding for compression garments and require assistance through their Regional Home Care Office or from a Health Care Aide (HCA) or Personal Care Attendant (PCA) to assist with donning and doffing their compression garments.
How can someone receive help through this pilot project?
Several AADL authorizers throughout the province who specialize in lower leg assessments have volunteered to participate in this project. The authorizer will provide the stocking aid to the client if it is determined that the client will benefit from its use. The client will be required to complete an on-line survey.
