Referral Criteria:

ERECS provides interdisciplinary assessment, consultation and inservices for children/students through north-central Alberta who have severe disabilities. Services include assessment, consultation and educational support for students with severe communication disorders. Service is available for children/students aged 2.5-20 years as of September 1 of the current school year.

Any school personnel can make referrals to GPAT for children with mild, moderate and severe disabilities, ages 2.5-19 years. Services provided depend on severity, location, need, supports and age.

Referral Criteria:

The AAC team provides assessment and trials of devices, support to the child’s treating clinician(s) for follow-up in implementing the device once it has been received, and education for staff. Referrals can be made by doctors, parents, teachers, public health nurses and other health care providers. Services are provided to children from birth-18 years.
