1. Are there special considerations needed for the Residential Access Modification Program (RAMP)?
For RAMP purposes, all invoices submitted for payment must be signed and dated by the client. In some cases vendors have requested the client to sign a work order form because an invoice is not generated until the installation is completed. In these instances, the signed work order and an invoice are to be submitted for payment.
The paperwork must also include all relevant serial numbers, model, the pertinent details (weight capacity, height, and chair mounting situation).
Some stair lifts models have two serial numbers (one for the motor and one for the seat). Both are needed for tracking and recycling purposes. Others only have one serial number listed on the seat. All porch lifts have one serial number.
Details on the weight capacity, height capacity, chair mounting direction (for interior lifts), porch lift access (straight – right – left), and/or under pan (to prevent seasonal damage due to snow or ice in exterior lifts) help recycle the product to another applicant after the first applicant no longer requires the merchandise. The weights and access vary from unit to unit because of the property and therefore is necessary information in order to locate another user within a shorter time frame.
